JIREH marks world environment day.

June 5 2018

Management and staff of Jireh Microfinance joined the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s World Environment Day. It is a day set aside by the United Nations as a global platform for raising awareness and taking necessary actions on urgent issues to protect the environment. June 5 every year is dedicated to promoting activities of the day. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Beat Plastic Pollution- If you can't reuse it, refuse it.

Indeed, the use and the disposal of plastics and polythene products have raised major environmental concerns in the country and threaten the beauty of the environment. In responding to the call to mark the day, the company organised a clean-up exercise at the various branches-Nima, Mampong and the Madina-Atomic Junction. The Managing Director of the company, Mrs Akorfa Ahiafor led the head office team and traders at Madina-Atomic to clean up the surroundings.

She encouraged staff and other participants to engage in activities which promote a healthy and sustainable environment. She also used the occasion to appeal to government to be proactive in enforcing relevant environmental laws.

Maintaining a Clean City Skyline should be the priority of all.
