JIREH Management attends ILO SCORE Training Programme

Management of Jireh Microfinance participated in a two-day SCORE training programme in Accra. Sustaining Competitive and Responsive Enterprises (SCORE) is the International Labour Organisation’s programme that seeks to improve productivity and working conditions in Small and Medium Scale Enterprises. The first session of the five-module programme is entitled ‘Workplace Cooperation- Foundation for Business Success.” The training session was facilitated by a four-member team of consultants and trainers led by Mr. Kwamina Amoasi-Andoh, the National Programme Manager of the ILO SCORE Project in Ghana. The other trainers were Mr. John Wilson, Human Resource Management Consultant and the immediate Past President of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, (IHRMP) Ghana, Mr. Gershon D. Odum, Organisational Safety, Health and Environmental Control (OSHEC) Consultant and Mr. Emmanuel Asamani, Mechanical Engineer and Management Consultant.





At the preliminary session, Mr. Francis Owusu-Achampong, a director of the company used the occasion to entreat management to build synergy and work hard to achieve the company’s goals. The Managing Director of the company, Mrs. Akorfa Ahiafor believes the key lessons from the programme will help improve the company’s fortunes. She, therefore, encouraged the team to act as agents of change in the company through effective communication, trust and respect for one another. Jireh Microfinance is the first in the industry to benefit from the Skills Development Fund (SDF) grant meant for short and medium-term skills upgrading initiative for employees. This is to help employees to increase productivity and their companies’ competitiveness.
